Our Outdoor Family Portraits in the Park have been one of our most popular portrait services. We started offering these in Ottawa over 25 years ago. Our Saturdays became so busy that we stopped accepting weddings in October so we could just do the family portraits in the park when the leaves were at their peak. Many clients drive in from Kanata, Nepean, Ottawa, Barrhaven, Orleans, Manotick, Stittsville and Richmond. Many clients book us every year and it's always great to see everyone again.

October Fall Family Portraits in Ottawa the leaves are usually at their peak of colour and it leaves time for portraits to be ready for Christmas giving and making of Christmas cards.

Family Portrait Park Gift Certificates are also very popular because they have no expiry date and are available.

Our Ottawa Family Portraits in The Park are typically relaxed casual looking poses,  sitting on the ground or a bench or on an old wood fence with nice natural smiles. If you have a location in mind great, if not we have a few locations we like that offer like the Experimental Farm Gardens or The Arboretum. 

 

With portraits involving large families, we do the big family group first then some smaller family groupings. One main group up to two smaller groups included, additional groups are $15 each, pays for extra time only no images are included.

Large Families and Family Reunions our online ordering system makes it so easy for people to place their own individual orders. That way no one is stuck having to calculate how much each person's order comes to then collect the cash.

Best time of the day for great family portraits in the park. Over twenty years of experience doing our Portraits in the Park tells us: The light is best for outdoor portraits on an overcast and hazy days. On sunny days the light is best for outdoor portraits at 9:00 AM, 9:30 AM, 4:00 PM, 4:30 PM.

 

The fall leaves are "usually" at their peak mid October, but last two years it was late October.  However, heavy rain or wind can also affect how many leaves will be left on the trees, always a gamble and impossible to predict. 

 

YIKES RAIN!!! In the event that it is actually raining on the day of your shoot, we will call you to offer alternative dates, a postponement or a cancellation.  Rain is not unusual for October so we keep a few "open" dates just in case. If it's just really overcast we find the light is much better than sunny days, the light is soft and even so it makes for great portraits.

Retouching is Included free on all Finished Photos (Not proofs). Typically we include some portrait retouching to whiten teeth, soften lines and wrinkles, remove blemishes or thin down the jawline and reduce a double chin if needed. All of our finished images have been tweaked in Photoshop. Our goal is to make you look great but not overdo the retouching, we want you to look like you are having a great day without looking retouched. But of course, the choice is always yours how far we go so if you have any special concerns just let us know.

Yes, we only work by appointment, most clients just use our online calendar. Find a date and time that works for you and book yourself in. Our online calendar never sleeps or gets a day off so it is always available to you. Yes, you can also phone or email for an appointment.

Easy online booking, online viewing and online ordering for all of your family portrait pictures.  We try to make it easy and convenient for you, so we offer several services online available to you 24/7 like online booking. After your photo session, you will be emailed a link and a password to view your proofs online. You can share your password with anyone you like or even share the gallery on Facebook, Twitter or Pinterest. You can take your time, select your favourite images and order online and even pay online. After we have them retouched and sized and email you when they are ready.
