Robin was selected as Bruce Hudson's "Monthly Mentor" for March 2010. Monthly Mentor is a subscription based audio CD that goes to over 400 professional photographers in five countries. Robin was interviewed on his marketing strategies.

Spencer Studio is proud to present our employee of the month. Squeaky Duck is a new employee who has worked hard to get great smiles from our clients, both young and old. Squeaky is an enthusiastic employee often showing up at the quack of dawn and never ducks his responsibilities.

The employee of the month receives a nice plaque, lunch with the gang and an official employee of the month photo (taken at Wal-Mart).

For those of you following the adventures of Squeaky the Duck, yes the little guy who makes you smile when you have your photo taken. He has used his Employee of the Month bonus and headed down south for a well deserved vacation. He emailed us this photo. Hope he packed his SPF 25.

Robin Honoured with Paul Harris Fellowship

April 11, 2011 Rotary honoured Robin by making him a Paul Harris Fellow in recognition for his community service and international service.

Spencer Studio has run several fundraiser/promotions that have resulted in the donation of 48 wheelchairs to the needy in third world countries and a well providing clean water to a village in Ethiopia.

"in appreciation of tangible and significant assistance given for the furtherance of better understanding and friendly relations among people of the world".

“Papa's Got a Brand New Bag"

I decided that after 25 years of Home Portraits I need a break, I’m too old, too fat and too lazy to have to pack up my studio equipment each time to take them off to do a home portrait, do the shoot, then re-pack everything and take it back to the studio only to reassemble it all again, time to make life easier. So I bought the biggest roller bag I could find, then bought a complete second set of studio lights, stands, cords, tripods, slaves, extensions etc. packed them in the new bag along with a spare Nikon body. Now I can just leave it packed all the time so when I get a location shoot I’ll just grab it and go. Ahh life is good.

Robin and his "Studio in a Bag" idea was featured in an article "Location, Location, Location" in the Oct. 2006 issue of Texas Professional Photographer.

Well this is embarrassing. Angel (our Head of Security and our Official Greeter) and Squeaky (our #1 studio assistant) seemed to have developed an office romance. Angel explains "He likes to cuddle and makes me laugh"
