Location Family Portrait

The composition really appeals to me, placing the family in the lower right quadrant.  Showing off the beautiful natural background.

A simple location group portrait shot on a Nikon D200 digital camera, then retouched, and softened. Using natural light and a Norman 400WS fill flash.

Baby Portrait

I love photos like this.  A soft Black and White portrait of a beautiful young family.  I had the opportunity to do their maternity portrait a few months earlier.

A studio portrait shot on a Nikon digital camera, then retouched, and softened.

Publicity Portrait.

Some people just photograph so well, too many great images to choose from.  This young lady needed a photograph for her application to Ford Modeling Agency.

A nice Mother/Baby portrait.

I like the softness and warmth of the Sepia.  Not your typical big smile into the camera, but a nice gentle expression.

99th Birthday Portrait.

An inspiration.  This young lady was having a portrait done to mark her 99th birthday.  She still plays golf but confessed that she seldom shoots under 100 anymore.  I love talking to people like her, a gentle sense of humour and a zest for life.  I look forward to seeing her next year.

70th wedding anniversary studio portrait of a great couple.

Wow, a portrait of a couple's 70th anniversary. A fabulous couple too, they told me stories about a young couple's struggle during the great depression, raising a family during the war years, the joys and the successes. We laughed,  they gently teased each other throughout the portrait session

It was one of those truly great weddings where everything just came together.  A great looking couple, super location and the light was perfect. Some couples are so co-operative and easy to work with, and it makes all the difference.  Shot after shot of this wedding were as they say "picture perfect". The negative was scanned and Photoshop was used to add soft focus and a vignette.

A small section of the huge Japanese Zen garden in Takamatsu taken during a 2004 trip to Japan.

Almost impossible to pick my favourite photo from this location, every turn led you to a tranquil place, prettier than before.  Home to Koi and cranes; sheltered by the misty mountain, the kind of place I could just sit forever.

This photo was shot on a very small Nikon SQ digital camera, then I used Photoshop to de-saturate the colours slightly.
The Rotary Club's Adventure in Citizenship Program official group photo.  220 students from all over Canada were brought to Ottawa for four days to meet each other and learn about what it really means to be a Canadian citizen. Each student received an 8x10 copy, compliments of the Rotary Club of Ottawa. This group photo was shot on a digital camera, allowing us to remove a police car from the left side of the background and to drop in the Rotary Logo, the name of the program in English, French and Inuktitut.

My gentle old dog Chico.  She loved to go camping or a walk in the woods, but best of all a scratch behind her big floppy ears.  Always there to steal one of your cookies, or beg for a corner of your sandwich with those big sad eyes.

" Rescued from being drowned as a pup with 11 of her brothers and sisters, survived being hit by a car at two years old.  Finally lost her to liver cancer at almost fourteen (April 2004).  The house is so empty without her"

Shot on a Nikon Digital camera, the photo was cropped, and a section of the background was enlarged and pasted behind the original photo to give it a 3D custom mat effect.

In Cuba, when a girl reaches the age of 15 there is a huge celebration.  Leaving the church, this young girl stops to feed the pigeons in the courtyard.

"Taken in Havana Cuba, this photo shows the joyous expression on her face on her most special day. Notice the cross in the background, religion being so dominant in their culture..  "

Simply one of a couple of shots taken on a Nikon Digital camera.

This group photo is of Dr. Ed Quirk's Warrior Training Workshop.  The plan is to use this photo for advertising upcoming workshops.  The serious, intense looks reminiscent of the group photos of "war buddies" taken in Vietnam.

"Group photos don't have to be people just lined up, tall ones in the back.  I love it when a client has something a little more artsy in mind"

It was - 44 degrees (yes that says minus 44) outside, the photo was actually taken in a hotel ballroom.  The background was added digitally from a real Vietnam photo, then the photo was converted to black and white, muted and warmed in Photoshop.

Stephanie Lefebvre is a professional Go Cart Racer, who needed some promotional photos.

"We did some traditional photos with Stephanie in full racing regalia plus some head and shoulders photos, but I liked this because it's different." says Robin "It captures her natural beauty plus her intense focus on the sport".

You will notice her reflection in the helmet.  A studio portrait shot on digital.

A Father - Son Portrait done spur of the moment during the family portrait shoot.

"I love this photo of Daddy Phil and Baby Phillip (2 months), the connection with the eyes and the warmth of the sepia" says Robin
